Our recent Annual General Meeting saw some changes in the Board of YMCA New Zealand.  Tony Jones of Tauranga was elected National President for a two year term.  Outgoing President Russell Leech of Timaru was elected as Treasurer.  Elected as new Directors were Simon Collett of Tauranga and Joe Kennedy of Nelson.  Standing down from the Board were Rowan McGregor of Wanganui who had served for two years and Helen McEwan who had served as a National Board member for ten years, much of that time as National Treasurer.  Both Rowan and Helen will continue to serve with their local YMCA and Helen was last year elected as Treasurer of the World Alliance of YMCAs.  The YMCA thanks both departing directors for their generous and invaluable service to the national movement.  So the new National Board of the YMCA is:

  • Tony Jones (Tauranga), President
  • Russell Leech (Timaru), Treasurer
  • Peter Barrett (Wellington)
  • Michael Weusten (Invercargill)
  • Simon Collett (Tauranga)
  • Joe Kennedy (Nelson)
