The YMCA congratulates the Prime Minister, the Right Honourable John Key, and the Minister for Social Development and Employment, the Honourable Paula Bennett in acknowledging the needs of Young People, in initiating the Green Paper for Vulnerable Children and in consulting with New Zealand.

YMCA Shakespear Lodge re-opens

The re-opening of Shakespear Open Sanctuary on December 1 heralds a new era for the hard working SOSSI volunteers, park staff and Hibiscus Coast residents.

Well its been a long time since my last update - we've been busy here at the Y but the status quo for us is only really just starting to change...
It is with much sympathy and aroha that we extend our thoughts and prayers to the members and staff of the Y who have lost a family member or friend due to the earthquake. There are no words that will ever suffice in this situation. All I can say is that we all mourn with you, and we can only but determine to ensure the memory of those lost serve as a constant reminder as to what is important and what we, as a community, need to be focused on for the future....more
