The 2025 YMCA Foundation Scholarship has been awarded to Taare Walker from Whitireia.
In his own words, Taare said it was such an honour and privilege to meet you all. I just want to say a huge thank you for giving me this opportunity.
Being given the opportunity to be blessed with this money has taught me that I do matter, I do have something to give, and that there are people out there who believe in me. Taking this scholarship has reminded me to take chances in life, to back myself, and to keep showing up even when it’s scary.
I’m truly grateful for this experience and everything it’s already taught me. Would love to keep in touch and keep you updated on how things go from here.
